Not your average Sunday morning as I whizzed across country from Frome to Swindon to catch an early morning train to London. My Mum dragged herself from her soft, warm bed on a cold and rainy June morning to drive me to the station.
After a week in Mozambique this last week has seemed bizarre. I met Andrew Mitchell on Thursday in his plush office at the Department for International Development. Friday was spent in a whirl of media appearances, popping up on Daybreak, ITN lunchtime news and a lovely piece on our local evening news. I walked up Downing Street with Tracey, Lindsay, the lovely people from One and Natasha Kaplinsky and posed outside that very shiny black door.
Now, I am sitting in an office in a secret location awaiting the arrival of Bill Gates and Justin Forsyth. Natasha Kaplinsky is already here.
And now, we have Bill…we have shaken hands. He is a remarkable man.
