Twenty Five Years of Comic Relief!
This year marks an unbelievable TWENTY FIVE years since the beginning of two remarkable things, me and Mr Thinly Spread and Comic Relief! Comic Relief are marking these events in a style which I approve of with a whole series of celebrations and one massive fund raise.
To kick things off they have transported three bloggers and a couple of celebs to Ghana to have a closer look at how the money which has been raised over the last quarter century has been used to improve lives. Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall were lucky enough to travel with Annie, Penny and Tanya (such blogging celebrities that they don’t need surnames ;-)) and they have sent ME a postcard!
I’ll let Annie tell you what they’ve been up to!
This photo if of the Virtuous Women’s Bakery’s nursery where a volunteer teacher cares for the small children, enabling their mothers to make, bake and sell bread. The children are all very close and we saw some children as young as five carrying smaller ones in slings and, as this photo shows, on their hips. Such a sense of close community between these empowered women and their children!
This is a digital postcard sent from TeamHonk during their travels with Comic Relief in Ghana celebrating #goodwork.
For the past 25 years the money raised through Red Nose Day has been changing the lives of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa. Let’s Keep Up the Good Work. Find out how at rednoseday.com
