With Love at Christmas for Festive Friday

Today on Festive Friday I am bringing you a very special guest post. Written by Emma from Science Sparks and MummyMummyMum…! in memory of our dear friend Kerry from Multiple Mummy who used to regularly join in with Festive Friday and who is very missed.

I do love Festive Friday, last year it marked the beginning of Christmas and I enthusiastically joined in every week, this year I haven’t quite managed it yet, mostly because I’ve been busy putting together a Christmas Charity eBook to remember my wonderful friend Kerry  (@multiplemummy ).

AtChristmasWithLove

I met Kerry through blogging, we started at around the same time and quickly found that we led very similar lives, both having three small children at home and soon became good friends. We discovered a shared passion for science, and in particular inspiring that same passion in our children. Eventually we launched Science Sparks and it’s gone from strength to strength ever since, we were both so proud of what we created

At the end of July 2012 Kerry suffered a ruptured aneurysm in her brain. She fought so hard for 5 months, but sadly passed away December 14th 2012.

Kerry loved Christmas, she went to huge efforts to make it completely magical for her family, so with that in mind I asked lots of Kerry’s Bloggy friends to help me create a Charity eBook.

With Love At Christmas is full of recipes, crafts and activity ideas. I think the final result is just lovely and know that Kerry would be very proud.

You can buy the eBook over on Science Sparks, priced at £3.50. All proceeds go to Addenbrookes Hospital where Kerry was cared for so wonderfully.

You can also contribute to Kerry’s Just Giving page if you didn’t want to buy the book.

Science Sparks is packed full of fabulous ideas for sharing science activities at home and encouraging learning. Emma has just posted this wonderful suggestion for Christmas – instead of your usual box of pens, paints and paper why not give a science hamper this year?! Easy to put together and brimming with possibilities this is a perfect present for a curious child.

Now, go buy that book!

How Does Festive Friday Work?

Festive Friday is an ongoing Linky for all things Christmas and runs from now until Boxing Day. There is no long list of requirements, it would be lovely if you mentioned me in your post and gave me a little link – if you do I’ll give you a kiss under the mistletoe and share a glass of sherry or two, if you don’t I won’t poke you with the holly or snatch back the mince pies! Please link up any lovely Christmas posts, past or present and help me to build a resource for Christmas lovers everywhere!

I am also running a collaborative Festive Friday Pinterest Board and will be pinning all those who join in on a Friday (with a full credit and link of course!). If you would like an invite to join the board and add your own pins just ask!
