When I started this blog in 2010 I had one child about to start school and three already well and truly there. Now Number One and Number Two have flown the nest, Number Three will be off next year and my youngest is almost 13- how time flies!
My blog has taken me to places and to meet people I would never have dreamed of when I started it at the kitchen table all that time ago and it continues to surprise me:
I’ve travelled to Mozambique and New York with Save the Children, to Austria with the World Health Organisation and to Amsterdam with WSPA.
I’ve met Bill Gates, Desmond Tutu and Sir Rannulph Fiennes. I’ve interviewed celebs at RHS Chelsea, cooked with celebrity chefs and gardened with fabulous gardeners.
I’ve driven a tractor in Somerset, ridden a motorbike in Africa and parked a self parking car at the Harry Potter Studios. I’ve thrown myself down zip wires and hung off the side of a 41 foot sailing boat travelling at speed to catch the perfect shot.
I’ve been a blogger ambassador for British Airways at the Olympics, I put the GoPro through its paces and I’ve reviewed everything from household appliances to cars and from holidays to ingredients for my recipes.
I’ve been a finalist in various blogger awards and the Cruise Journalist’s awards. I’ve spoken at conferences in London and Austria, I’ve appeared on Woman’s Hour, Daybreak and The Politics Show. I’ve handed petitions into Downing Street, been invited to the House of Lords and to a private meeting with a Minister and Thinly Spread has been archived by the British Library, I am incredibly proud of that one!
As time marches on you can expect to read generous handfuls of vegan recipes, crafty ideas and gardening tips as well as updates on our house renovations and ideas for days out and adventures of your own.
I hope you enjoy sharing bits of my life with me and that you will post a comment so I know you are out there!
