Halloween Spider Biscuits
Spooky Spider Biscuits, perfect for Halloween and wonderful to hand out to Trick or Treaters!

Ingredients
- 75 g/? cup Soft Brown Sugar
- 75 g/? cup Caster Sugar
- 125 g/½ cup Butter at room temperature
- 1 Egg at room temperature lightly beaten
- 175 g/1½ cups Plain Flour
- 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
- 100 g/? cup Plain Chocolate Chips
- A Cocktail Stick To make the spiders not to go in the cookies!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5
- Lightly grease two baking sheets
- Cream together the butter and sugars using a free standing mixer with the paddle attachment (or by hand with a wooden spoountil light and fluffy
- Add the beaten egg and mix thoroughly
- Add the flour and the bicarbonate of soda and thoroughly combine
- Add most of the chocolate chips, keeping a few back to make the 'spiders'. Mix in well.
- Spoon dessert spoonfuls of the mixture onto your trays leaving gaps between each heap, the cookies will spread
- Top each cookie with three or four of the reserved chocolate chips
- Bake for 10 -12 mins until golden
- Use your cocktail stick to drag legs out of the chocolate chips while they are still melty, four on each side!
- Leave to cool a bit on a wire rack
- These biscuits store well in an airtight container for two or three days and make a lovely addition to school lunch boxes as Halloween approaches!
- Serve with optional spider for extra scare power!
